The club was formed in 1992 by a group of local fishers. Joe Spiteri was elected president and

about 50 members joined. Initially called the "Werribee South Boating and Amateur Fishing Club",

we changed the name to Werribee South Fishing Club in 2001. We are an incorporated association.

We are a family oriented club dedicated to ethical recreational fishing in all forms, habitat and river conservation, improvement of fishing stocks and the responsible training of junior fishers.

Meetings. The club meets at 7.30pm on the first and third Wednesday of each month in the fishing club room

adjacent to the tennis courts, Price Reserve, Werribee South. (old melway 209F11, new melway 199F11).

Club Competitions. Members compete on a regular basis for open bay (all species) and selected species -

whiting, snapper, flathead, bream.  We also fish freshwater and surf.  We encourage catch and release where possible.
